Kiwi and Lime Juice

When my husband tasted this drink for the first time he said: "Mmmmm delicious, I would definitely buy this drink if sold somewhere". Which made me think of all the other thousands of recipes I have made and he has NOT made that particular comment on!!! Makes you wonder! This drink is packed with vitamin C and fibre and is very cleansing and refreshing as well. Just make sure that the people you serve it to are not allergic to kiwis and it is advised that toddlers/very young children are not given kiwis unless absolutely certain they are not allergic to them.

You will need a juicer and a blender or a food processor to make this juice.

A very refreshing and cleansing drink

Kiwi and Lime Juice

Serves 2 people

Ingredients

  • 75 grams (3 oz) seedless grapes (green)
  • 3 kiwis, ripe
  • 1 sweet apple
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • A couple of ice cubes

Preparation

  1. Slice the apple to fit in the juicer. You don't need to peel the apples.
  2. Run the apple and the 50 grams grapes through the juicer. Pour the juice into a container.
  3. Peel the 3 kiwis with a small knife and place in a blender or a food processor. Mix for 5 seconds (not for longer as you don't want to break the seeds).
  4. Add the apple and grape juice and the 4 tablespoons lime juice to the blender.
  5. Mix for 3-5 seconds.
  6. Serve immediately with a couple of ice cubes.

Tips

  • Ensure that the kiwis are very ripe, otherwise they will be very sour.
  • If you prefer a sweeter juice, you can add 1 tablespoon agave nectar.
  • If you mix the kiwi seeds for too long they will break in the blender and will give a bitter taste.
