Orange, Carrot and Ginger Juice

This is a lovely juice and one you could easily buy (overpriced, mind you) in a juice bar or a health food store as it is a classic combination. The juice is packed with vitamins C and A (Beta Carotene) which will help fight macular degeneration and it also contains antioxidants. If you don't own a juicer you can always buy orange juice and carrot juice and then grate the ginger. It is not as fresh as the real thing but if you are desperate for a can make one!

An excellent detox juice, packed with vitamins

Orange, Carrot and Ginger Juice

Serves 2 people

  • 100 grams (3½ oz) carrots
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger (equal to a grape in size)
  • 200 millilitres (7 fluid oz) orange juice (without added sugar) or 3-4 large oranges

  1. Peel the ginger and the 100 grams carrots.
  2. Place in a juicer and pour the juice into a container.
  3. Pour the orange juice into the container (or squeeze the 3-4 oranges) and stir well.
  4. Serve immediately.

  • If you don't have a juicer, you can buy organic orange juice and carrot juice and grate the ginger yourself for a nice and healthy juice.
  • If you like your juice cold, place a few ice cubes into the container.
