I love making my own teas and I also love making my own milk shakes. I would never in a million years buy milk shakes as they are filled with rubbish, so when I have some home made ice cream on hand and if the weather is hot, it's just the perfect beverage. When I have a soar throat (which does not happen often) I often make my own tea. My husband who never uses pain relief or cough syrups of any kind says that the drink makes him feel a million times better. He also asks for this special tea even though he doesn't have a soar throat. That is a nice compliment for the tea and indeed I recommend drinking it for every occasion, it is very refreshing and good!
A Drink for Sore Throats
I don't get a sore throat often and I rarely ever get a flu or a cold (thankfully).
Blueberry Tea
This is my favourite tea when blueberries are in season although I often make it with frozen blueberries as well.
Cashew and Banana Milk
This is more of a milk than a smoothie since it is not very thick.
Ginger Drink
This is a very refreshing drink, especially in the summer time, or when you have a cold. It is also good if you are detoxing.
Iced Latte
I first had a similar iced latte at a cafe called Englen in Aarhus, Denmark. We were visiting friends from home, Sigrún (my namesake) and her husband Freyr.
Mint Tea
This drink hardly requires introduction since it is widely enjoyed all over the world. I have had mint tea in Japan, in Africa, in the US and of course in Europe.
Mulled Wine/Glögg (non-alcoholic)
Mulled wine usually contains red wine combined with spices and sugar. The reason for the additional spices was to make the wine drinkable again in the old days (since it often went bad).
Orange and Cinnamon Tea
I love the scent of oranges and cinnamon. There is something very soothing about that lovely combination of sweet and spicy.
Pistachio Milk
This is not exactly a smoothie but more of a milky drink. If you are not intolerant to nuts, but are intolerant to dairy, this might be the perfect drink for you.
Rhubarb and Strawberry Milk Shake
I love, love, love this "milk" shake (which is actually not made with any dairy products). Forget the milk shakes you can buy in those fast food places because this is the real deal.
Vanilla Milk Shake
I absolutely love to make this milk shake on a warm summer's day (which happens around once every summer in Iceland with a "heat wave" of 20 degrees Celsius/68 Fahrenheit..I know, pretty sad).
Zanzibar Lemon Grass Tea
I first tasted this tea in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
